Little is known of the life of the map publisher Sydney Hall, who flourished in England between 1818 and 1860.
His A New General Atlas was published in 1830, followed by a New British Atlas in 1833, which subsequently was re-issued several times. He published A Travelling County Atlas in 1842 and A New County Atlas from 1847.
Little is known of his private life.
