About the Artist:
This Austrian-born painter of portraits and genre and historical scenes was also a skilled sculptor. Born in Vienna in 1864, Schramm died in the same town in 1919.
Educated at the Académie de Vienne, Schramm obtained a Silver Medal in Vienna in 1892. Perhaps his greatest commission, which he completed with L. Burger, was the decoration of the Palais Frankel.
