About the Artist:

Robert Emil Stübner was born on 13th February, 1874, in Forste, Germany, where he first established himself as a successful painter of portraits and interior scenes of the theatre and ballet.

He attended the School of Beaux-Arts and the Academy of Berlin respectively, where his natural ability to depict modern life on canvas became evident. His work is now held in permanent collections in the major museums of Berlin and Münster.

He died in March 1931.
