About the Artist:
Alfred Leete was a British illustrator. Born in Northampton, he studied at Weston-super-Mare Grammar School before becoming a printer. In 1904 Punch magazine used one of his drawings. He then became a full-time illustrator. He is famous for the Lord Kitchener poster design, which first appeared on the cover of the weekly magazine London Opinion in 1914. He is buried in Milton Road Cemetery in Weston-super-Mare
