Artist: Lorna Simpson
Title: Recall, Year: 1998
Dimensions: Paper Size: 30 x 22 inches | Image Size: 13 x 22 inches
Edition | Medium: Open Edition Artist Signed | Serigraph
About the Art A: Mint | Hand signed, dated, labeled PP (Printers Proof) and numbered out of 5 in pencil by Simpson. This Piece is a serigraph printed on felt. Recall is based on a still from her 16 mm 1998 film titled ‘Recollection’ shot during Simpson's artist residency at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. The film questions what is real versus that which is fabricated, and how memory is selective. Other impressions of this desirable Simpson print are in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
