From The Artist : The inspiration for a painting can come in many ways but for me it usually starts with seeing something of artistic value. It may be the light falls just so on a scene or a fresh blanket of snow brings to life an otherwise ordinary scene. The latter was the case for these paintings. This run down old snow fence with its lichen covered slats, many of which were broken and leaning, had such wonderful rustic character. My husband and I knew it would make a wonderful setting for a future painting. The choice of subjects was only natural, since this area contains abundant wildlife with whitetail deer and pheasants among its many inhabitants.
