Artist: Tery Redlin
Title: Evening on the Ice (2007)
Edition Size: Limited to 9,500 signed & numbered prints
Size: 18-1/2" x 32"
About the Art: "Growing up in eastern South Dakota, I loved to hunt and fish. In the winter, the lakes turned into small towns bustling with activity. One of the best forms of entertainment was ice fishing! Vehicles would drive out to the ‘hot spots' and while the fishermen would swap stories and unwind from a long workweek, everyone would watch and wait for a bite!
Today, it is no different. I look out from my studio and the frozen lake is alive with icehouses, vehicles, and snowmobiles. The enjoyment I get from watching these winter activities inspired the painting, ‘Evening on the Ice'." --Terry Redlin
Few artists can rival the standards of excellence achieved by Master Artist Terry Redlin over the past 25 years. He is truly one of the country's most widely collected painters of wildlife and Americana. For eight consecutive years, 1991 through 1998, Redlin has been named America's Most Popular Artist in annual gallery surveys conducted by U.S.ART magazine. His induction into U.S.ART's Hall of Fame in 1992 followed the magazine's poll of 900 galleries nationwide which, that year, placed five of Redlin's limited editions in the top 11 in popularity. Over the life of the poll, 30 prints have been included in that list. His use of earthy colors, blazing sunrises and sunsets and nostalgic themes are often cited as the reasons for his immense popularity.
