From the Artist : My good friend Rudi has a passion for restoring old worn out farm land to lush prairie. As an avid hunter, hestarted restoring some of his own land in an effort to return it to the prairie it was when the buffalo roamed across the plains. It was so successful that he began to seek grants to restore farms that were in critical drainage areas – where chemical fertilizers and pesticides, etc. were running off into the waterways that would find their way to the Mississippi River and was successful at securing funds to purchase and restore many thousands of acres. He invited me up to his own farm in Northern Missouri to see what it was like – and I was amazed at the abundance of life. Driving around we saw everything there was to see – except for buffalo – but he does have a dream for that as well. Midwest Morning is my portrayal of his efforts and a memorable experience for me and Bonnie. ~Mark Keathley
