About the Artist:
Henri Manguin was born in 1874 in France and was associated with the Fauves Movement. He was close friends with Both Henri Matisse and Charles Camoin and like both of these, he originally made copies of Renaissance art in the Louvre. He loved painting and travelling throughout southern Europe and thus many of this paintings were of Mediterranean landscapes. He moved from Paris to St. Tropez in 1949, but sadly passed-away shortly after the move.
