About the Artist:
Berthe Morisot encapsulates the modern women who evolved in late 19th century Paris. She exhibited in seven out of the eight Impressionist exhibitions held between 1874 and 1886, only missing one because she was heavily pregnant. She was firstly mentored by Manet, then Renoir. It was only a year after her death from pneumonia that she gained real recognition thanks to a major show at Durand-Ruel`s prestigious gallery where 395 of her paintings selected no less than by Degas and Renoir went on display.
