About the Artist: JOHN RUSEAU's love of drawing and painting is visually communicated through rich colors, sharp shadows, simple and strong composition, and a complexity of details. Early training as an architect helped to develop hi meticulous style and painting techniques in the Beaux Art tradition. After practicing architecture in New York and Florida, he joined the faculty of the University of Virginia, where he taught graphic design and watercolor rendering for 32 years. Over the past three decades, John has spent summers sailing along the Atlantic coast and touring Europe by motorcycle, all the while painting his travels.
