About the Art: Originally a native of Great Britain, John Seerey-Lester has technically been an artist since he was nine. He attended the Salford Technical College in Lancashire, England. He then went on to hold positions in marketing and publishing before becoming a professional artist in 1974. It was his first excursion to Nairobi, Kenya that convinced the successful painter to change genres from Victorian street scenes to wildlife. In 1982 Seerey-Lester moved from England to Florida to pursue wildlife painting. Since deciding to pursue wildlife Seerey-Lester has developed an international reputation. He has painted everything from blue jays to elephants, and he continues to ensure his art is an interactive and exciting experience for his viewers. It is John Seerey-Lesters commitment to personally observe the animals he paints in their natural habitats that has fostered his reputation for authenticity among critics and collectors.
