About the Art: Winter has a magic all its own. In its pale sunlight, long shadows extend over a landscape once hidden. "Winter Boundaries depicts a scene that is typical of the rolling hills that are near my studio - farmland dotted with wood lots and fence rows. "I especially like draft horses and have done several paintings of them over the years. In this painting, I wanted to emphasize the shimmer of the horses' coats in the late afternoon sun. I positioned them in a snow covered field so that they would stand out against the shadows, cast by the rolling clouds passing over the landscape."
