The inks are also 'green' and have minimal VOC's (volatile organic compounds)
About the Art: I seek the capture of extraordinary quintessential beauty in compelling compositions of the ordinary. My current body of work is an impassioned investigation of abandoned spaces and my experiences in them. The act of recording, using a digital camera as a device through which I can mediate my entropic explorations, allows for an intuitive archeology of these forgotten places. My abstracted images act as a representation of my first person experience with these places and objects, and function, as moderated observations to be interpreted by the viewer. I see art as a joining of the unconscious and conscious worlds. Abstraction, my chosen medium, is the capture of pure emotion and the sum total of my life experiences. I strive to imbue my work with mood and emotion from those experiences. Beautiful art, to me, is not created by objects of representation, but rather by the relationships of line, color and form; and the contrast between light and dark. The artistic process used to create these fine art abstract pieces begin with an original digital image captured from entropic, scarred and weathered surfaces, usually in man-made environments. The pieces are printed with pigment inks and archival fine art paper. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, I am an award winning self taught artist. My work hangs in corporate and prominent private collections. The quest for abstract beauty in everyday objects fuels my passion to create my work and inspires me to continue my path as an artist, searching for the next great find.
