About the Art: Peter Kitchell's work in an exploration of place and time. His technique utilizes both digitally manipulated photographs and scanned imagery as well as traditional painting and printmaking techniques. "I use bits and pieces of painted information for color and texture while the photographic information carries the story." Kitchell was born to architect parents in Cambridge, MA in 1950. He began his formal training at the Museum of Modern Art and at the de Young Museum after his family moved there during his childhood. The artist later studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and California College of the Arts. He currently resides in Massachusetts.
