From the Artist: “This painting was a long journey! As with most of my recent work, I wanted to set a mood and then tell a story. As the moon’s ghostly glow rises from beyond the hills and banks of this mystical wilderness lake, a group of deer emerge from the dark, shadowy forest and stay within view of the golden lights glowing from inside the cabin. The neighboring black bear cubs have found the canoes of the family resting inside and curiously investigate, while a young family of wood ducks hastily keep their distance from the juvenile commotion. Suddenly, glowing little lights float from the thick summer undergrowth laden with seeds and flowers. Fireflies dance their romantic waltz of light, mesmerizing all life along this quiet lake cove. I like to think that this painting is a bedtime story that comes to life, and I hope it brings you a feeling of peace when you see it.” ~ Abraham Hunter
