Literally translated, Panteras means Panthers, and it is to the women of Rio exclusively that this term is applied. To Neiman "The women of Rio are the true embodiment of Carnaval." Here he has depicted in a frieze-like study, including the ever sensuous and stunning mulattas, in their scanty carnaval attire presenting themselves in their most alluring poses, as only Rio's women can. "Panteras" enables one to visually experience the tremendous energy and beauty of Carnaval's women.
