About the Art: Ron DiScenza was born in Ohio in 1954, and began drawing at the early age of three. He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York where he received a Bachelor degree in Fine Art. Upon graduation, Ron taught undergraduate courses in illustration, making him one of the youngest instructors at that time. Ron later illustrated for every major publisher from Bantam Books to Time Magazine. He also worked for Tiffany and Company designing corporate gift items and objects of art. In 1978 he was commissioned to paint for the Italian film director, Ermanno Olmi. The painting later was used as the movie poster for the N.Y. debut of his film "The tree of the wooden clogs". (L'albero degli zoccoli) In 1995 Ron made a major life change. While vacationing in Italy, in the hometown of his parents, he made the decision to remain and paint. Today he lives in the picturesque province of Molise with his wife and two-year-old son. Ron's paintings are recognized by his fascination with sunlight and the way he beautifully illuminates his subjects. His commissioned painting of "N'docciata" is currently displayed in the Papal residency
