About the Artist: Sandra Wiesman Weiler has drawn and painted since early childhood. Born and raised on a farm in central Wisconsin, she developed an early appreciation for the natural world. "There was a river running through our farm," Sandra relates. "And as kids that river and its islands were our playground. Then and now, one of the most satisfying feelings I experience is when I happen upon a scene such as an overturned lily pad, sparkling and colorful, amid the deep blues and purples of the water's shaded vegetation floating in silence. The world around me begins to soothe my soul. I am challenged to portray through my artwork this special feeling. This deeply satisfying calmness enables me to experience peace, a peace which nature offers to us."
Sandra's work has been featured in art magazines including the cover of Wildlife Art, Sept. 1999. Her work has been juried into the Leigh Yawkey "Birds in Art" Exhibit six years of the last decade.
