About the Art: "On a cool crisp morning this English Setter is hard at work. He knows what he's there to do and is hoping to locate some pheasants in the thick grass. Like a flag backlit from the morning sun, the English Setter goes on point as he suddenly catches the scent and a flash of iridescent color. It looks like the start of a perfect day," days Darrell Bush. "As an artist, I've tried to lend energy to this painting and capture a fleeting moment in time where the viewer can almost feel the excitement building as these birds get ready to break cover and take to the air." Darrell Bush is an artist who is comfortable painting any season and a variety of subjects and places that evoke memories for his collectors ... from campsites and canoes to fishing memorabilia and a favorite hunting companion. Born in East Moline, Illinois, Darrell Bush enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family as a child. In 1984, after graduating with a bachelor of fine arts degree in commercial art from Northern Illinois University, bush moved to Minnesota and worked as a commercial illustrator for five years. "It was during this time I began pursuing a second career: my true love, wildlife art," he said. In 1987, Bush became a fulltime artist. He received international recognition when he was chosen as an artist for the September, 1996 Wonders of Nature Exhibition in Hong Kong.
