About the Art: The Legacy Collection: Recognized worldwide as one of the foremost painters of Americana, Charles Wysocki's endless creativity and skill will continue to delight collectors and admirers. Before his death in July of 2002, Charles made fourteen special paintings, printed and signed each print. Then he sealed each of these fourteen editions and put them in safekeeping to be released after his death.
With the establishment of the Charles and Elizabeth Wysocki Charitable Gift Fund, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each Legacy Collection print will be contributed to the Fund to support the American arts and to assist those who aspire to the American dream. Contributions will be made from the Fund in the form of scholarships, gifts and grants.
Gulls' Nest "Ahhhhh. The lure of the sea. Who would not want to live at Gull's Nest says the artist's son Matt Wysocki. "My father's love of Cape Cod and the whole east coast seashore really shines through on this image," he continues. "Where else could one find two of my father's favorite delectable foods in one place. Lobster and watermelon. Whenever we took family trips to New England, my father would be in lobster heaven. And, I really don't know how much watermelon is grown back east, but it was always my father's favorite summer fruit. It is no wonder "Gull's Nest" is part of the Legacy Collection, and included in the images my father loved best."
