About the Artist: The peacefulness and solitude of nature are what best describe the art of this Canadian born artist. The work portrays a timeless sense of serenity, through carefully rendered depictions of the landscape. The artist's style took years to develop, and has been developing since childhood. It was this early relationship with the natural world that would later become the basis for his talent. Working in acrylics and oils, Jake captures the landscape with striking compositions, emphasizing color, light and atmosphere. Among the artist's favorite subjects are serene lakes, forests, mountains and streams, along with pastoral settings closer to home, such as farmland and country roads.
