Artist: Linda Hartough
Title: 16th Hole, Shinnecock
Size: 21" x 36"
Edition: Artist Signed and Numbered with COA, Limited to 350
Medium: Canvas Giclée
About the Art:One of the highlights of the USGA's Centennial was the return of the U.S. Open Championship to Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, one of the USGA's original five member clubs. The first U.S. Open played here was in 1896 and the second Open came nine decades later in 1986. Golf at Shinnecock Hills is reminiscent of a traditional Scottish links course. Shinnecocks picturesque 16th Hole features a look up the fairway with the stately clubhouse designed by Stanford White in the background. The small green, isolated by rough that is well bunkered, slopes the golfers' left to right.
