Emily McPhie Handsigned and Numbered Fine Art SmallWorks™ Giclée Canvas:"Knowledge of Good and Evil"
Artist: Emily McPhie
Title: Knowledge of Good and Evil
Size: 9"w x 12"h
Edition: Artist Signed and Numbered, Limited to 100
Medium: Giclee on Canvas
About the Collection: Miniature art is an important part of any collection and SmallWorks is your way to begin. Such works are often a collector's first purchase because they are less expensive. A single small jewel of art can be that final, elegant touch in fine décor. On the other hand, a wall filled with framed miniatures makes for an impressive display of a collector's unique style and range of interests. The Greenwich Workshop's SmallWorks are artworks with an image area of 144 square inches or less (for example, it could be 12" x 12" or 3"x 44".) Larger than the traditional miniature format (6" x 9"), the SmallWorks design gives the artist slightly more space and dimensions to play with, while still offering the collector or first time buyer a point of easy and unique access to the finest art from the finest artists. We've offered smaller format works from our artists in the past, but it can be hard to understand relative size in our printed Catalogue. By creating the category of SmallWorks and by opening with a "show", we have put all the Greenwich Workshop artists together in one place and miniature art under the banner of SmallWorks.
About The Edition: "This painting is about right and wrong," says Emily McPhie. "Not just knowing the difference, but making the right decision and having the conviction and confidence to stick to it. The figure in pink is very sure of herself and her choice; but she's also struck a balance-she's not all in red and she's not all in white. She understands that the right decision is also about finding balance in all things and following it, and that there may not even be one right decision. To quote J.R.R. Tolkien, ‘All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given us.'"
