His interest in visual creativity continued at the London Inchbald School of Design for a year where he qualified for a diploma in 1992. After a short period as a consultant he diverted his attentions to the catering and licensing trade in Brighton and Cheltenham for the next seven years whilst periodically working on painting commissions and design work. Starting in November 2006 he began a one year program as artist in residence at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum in New Jersey, USA. His current interests are the history and culture of the Swahili coast of East Africa, and the diverse wildlife of Kenya. Throughout 2006 Guy visited Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe and the US and will include observations from these trips in his portfolio. Guy has had interests and involvements with a number of conservation organisations. His father, Simon, was director of ground operations in Nakuru National Park for Rhino Rescue, who are responsible for fencing the park to protect a very successful introduction program of White and Black Rhino. Guy has been on action committee meetings and has helped his stepmother, Kat, to continue this very important work. He also intends to help his good friend, Mary Wykstra, director of the Kenya chapter of Cheetah Conservation Fund in any future projects. Further, and more importantly, when he returns to Kenya he hopes to be directly involved in a project to turn the 50,000 acre farm where he's based into the 'Soysambu Conservancy'.
