Conceptualized in 1948, Marvin the Martian is one of the most popular Looney Tunes characters. The inspiration behind "Life of Marvin" is the Martian's frustration with being overshadowed by other aliens despite his off-Earth antics. Michael Cole interprets Marvin as oversized to reflect both his nature and enormous ego. Cole's work includes theme park designs for Disneyland and Disney Hong Kong attractions like "A Bug's Life," "Toy Story," and "Hello Mickey."
About the Artist
Michael Cole, a South Bend native, became a Disney artist after graduating from Auburn University. He worked on projects for Disneyland and Disney Hong Kong theme parks, including "A Bug's Life" and "Toy Story." Known for his expressive fine art featuring Looney Tunes characters, Cole also contributed to the hit animated series "VeggieTales." Currently residing in Franklin, Tennessee, he continues to innovate in the art world.
