About the Art:

"Heroes" is from the acclaimed Batman: Hush series that started in 2001. It is one of two triple-gatefold comic book covers for Batman #619, the final issue of the Hush storyline published in November 2003. The artwork was penciled and colored by Jim Lee and inked by Scott Williams.

The story arc features Batman's allies battling Gotham's villains and introduces the mysterious villain Hush. This series is credited with revitalizing Batman's status as a top DC Comics icon and boosting Jim Lee's reputation as a superstar comic book artist.

Each print in the "Heroes" edition is hand-numbered and signed by Jim Lee.

About the Artist:

Jim Lee (born August 11, 1964, in Seoul, South Korea) is a Korean-American comic book artist, writer, editor, and publisher. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and began his professional career in 1987 with Marvel Comics. Lee gained fame for his dynamic, detailed art style on titles like Uncanny X-Men and The Punisher War Journal, and co-created the character Gambit. In 1992, he co-founded Image Comics and created the popular series WildC.A.T.s. Later, he sold his studio WildStorm to DC Comics and became a key creative leader there, serving as President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer as of 2023. Lee holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling comic book of all time with X-Men #1 (1991) and has received multiple industry awards including the Harvey and Inkpot Awards.
