About the Art: “You’re All Under Arrest!” is taken from the 1946 classic “The Great Piggy Bank Robbery,” directed by Bob Clampett.
In “The Great Piggy Bank Robbery,” which is a satire on film noir detective movies, Daffy Duck becomes Duck Twacy, who investigates the theft of the world’s piggy banks.
The Library of Congress awarded “The Great Piggy Bank Robbery” as one of the best cartoons ever made and went to the great expense of striking a pristine print for their permanent collection.
The original drawing was rendered by Juan Ortiz and the master hand inked by Laurie Dindis. The background was painted by Hector Martinez, and reproduced using the fine art Giclee process.
