He has become so burdened with his belongings and the items he has collected that, while he eyes the rod longingly, he cannot reach up to hold it for fear of losing some of his possessions. His dilemma is one we all share daily; how prepared are we to let go of the things we think we need to keep us safe and secure in order to hold fast to our beliefs and thereby navigate life with confidence?
